A new 660 Mwe source at the Ledvice power plant – OB 41 cooling tower
The work involved the construction of a 145m tall cooling tower. The tower was founded by means of special foundation on piles. The construction was started by building a cooled water tank for the collection and accumulation of about 20,000 m3 of water. The reinforced concrete shell was performed by a set of climbing formwork with the step of 1.5m. A prefabricated reinforced concrete structure was built in the tower and the tower was subsequently fitted with a cooling system.
